Console Video Game Platforms
A video game console is an interactive entertainment computer or modified computer system that produces a video display signal which can be used with a display device (a television, monitor, etc.) to display a video game. The term “video game console” is used to distinguish a machine designed for consumers to buy and use solely for playing video games from a personal computer, which has many other functions, or arcade machines, which are designed for businesses that buy them and then charge others to play. Video game consoles or video entertainment systems, as they were called in 1976 have been with us for quite a while, despite the fact that most people have only known them the last 15 years (real fact survey information). They have really come a long way for the last 35 years. Today’s video game consoles, also called seventh generation consoles, are almost everything. A powerful game machines, multimedia centers, web browsers, high definition players, music and photos players, etc. Comparing to the founders of the industry like the 1972’s Magnavox Odyssey and Atari 2600, the modern generation of video game consoles (Sony PlayStaion3, Microsoft’s Xbox360 and Nintendo’s Wii) are almost super futuristic. Which is probably all normal, but still the power and multimedia possibilities, the last generation of video consoles provide, are just tremendous.
Its all in the software field now. Game developing is everything. Foundations have been set for a very, very bright future in video gaming. Consoles are yet the best video race simulation solution as well. With wheels and race seats available for every console manufacturer and games becoming mo
re and more realistic and fine, times have never been better for sim racing.
