Story
Gran Turismo (Italian for “Grand Tourer”), also known as GT, is a highly successful and critically acclaimed series of racing video games produced for the Sony PlayStation, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3 and Playstation Portable gaming systems. All of the games are said to simulate the appearance and performance of a large selection of vehicles, nearly all of which are licensed reproductions of real-world automobiles. Since the franchise’s first entry in December 1997, over 50 million units have been sold worldwide for the PlayStation, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation 3.

They call it the real driving simulator. And it is the real thing. No other racing game gets so close to the real action. Its absolutely superb. Its more, its the best.

Game Play
The game has its “not so perfect” sides like no weather conditions and no car damage. But believe me, you wont even think about rain effects or tyre wear,  when you start racing. The realism just takes you beyond all these extras. You don’t race for the win, you race for the opportunity to watch this amazing game engine in action. Driving in a race seat simulator takes you even deeper in the magic created by GT5. Having a force feed back steering wheel completes the real simulation. It makes you feel one with your car. You need that stability the racing simulator provides in order to get better and better. You will never  get even close to that absolute great experience without a race seat.

AI
The opponents AI is just remarkable. You manage to beat the machine, you beat anyone after. The graphics are just unreal. The car detail is so astonishing, so fine. The cockpit view makes you think you are in that super car for real. All you want to to is drive and drive.

Cars
And the car variety. Oh boy! No one else offers so many cars, and so many circuits to race on. And every single one of them is just so perfectly designed. No detail has been spared. Nothing has been compromised. All these cars from the little Golf to the super exotic California drive so unique. They drive so differently. They also act different on different circuits as well.

Conclusion
I know GranTurismo dont offer you screen wipers, rain effects, car damage etc.. But who cares. After all game racing is not about special effects, its about racing. And racing GranTurismo is. Real time racing.
