Need For Speed Video Racing Series
Need for Speed (NFS) is a series of racing video games published by Electronic Arts and developed by several studios including Canadian based company EA Black Box. It is the most successful racing video game series of all time, and one of the most successful overall. As of October 2009, Need for Speed have sold more than 100 million copies.
Need for Speed was one of the first to offer a semi-realistic driving experience and 3D graphics. The first NFS was an absolute revolution in the gender. There was nothing like it before.
Everything about the game was tremendous. The second and third editions were total hits as well. But somewhere in the middle of everything EA, kind of lost their touch with racing simulation and went all underground and tuner cultured. Nothing wrong about it, its just the original Need for Speed feeling was corrupted. But maybe the times have changed quicker for some of us, who like their racing in a more realistic environments: mountain roads and sandy beaches motor ways.
Not all that darkness the latest NFS titles have brought upon us.
Maybe they haven’t gone in the right story direction, but believe me, EA are proper right about their gameplay engines. Driving a NFS game is better with every new title. Doesn’t matter your console or steering wheel system. Game experience is perfect on all – PlayStation3, Xbox360 or PC. Even on a handhelds like PSP. These series are one of the few out there that make your racing seat simulator a real time street machine.
